About the job
The IT department is the central competence and service centre for IT for the cantonal administration, the courts, the municipalities and other customers from the public-law sector. It is responsible for the operation and further development of the ICT infrastructure in the areas of PC/laptop workstations, network, servers, storage, security, unified communication, office automation, specialist and e-government applications.
We are looking for a
Head of Projects and Application Management 80–100 %
from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement, based in Glarus.
Tasks
- Professional and personnel management as well as further development of the specialist unit
- Active management of the service and project portfolio of digitalisation and IT services
- Development of new IT services and optimisation of business processes
- Consulting internal and external customers
- Co-responsibility for the implementation of the digitalisation concept in cooperation with the Digital Administration unit, the departments and the municipalities
- Expansion of the integrated authority portal of the canton and municipalities for citizens
- Ensuring the productive operation of the authority portal and specialist applications
- Participation in cross-cantonal committees and representation of the interests of the canton of Glarus
Requirements
- Completed higher education, ideally in business informatics or computer science, and many years of experience in project or application management
- Sound project management knowledge, preferably Hermes
- Conceptual and analytical skills as well as networked thinking
- Organisational and planning skills as well as implementation strength
- Excellent German skills, spoken and written
- Experience in leading interdisciplinary teams
- Integrative and implementation-strong leadership personality with high social competence, customer and service orientation as well as presence skills
- Enjoyment of working in a team and with different customer groups
