At the Institute of Automation of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW, we shape the future of intelligent technical systems in teaching, research and practice. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed individual with proven expertise in mobile robotics and automation.
Your tasks:
- Representation of the field of Mobile Robotics, autonomous vehicles, drone and assistance systems in teaching and research
- Conducting courses at Bachelor and Master level as well as supervising study, Bachelor and Master theses
- Participation in and, if necessary, management of continuing education programmes
- Acquisition, management and implementation of application-oriented research and development projects with industry partners
- Maintenance and expansion of cooperation with business and research
- Active involvement in the further development of the institute and the university
Your profile:
- Completed engineering degree (FH, university or ETH), ideally with a doctorate
- Sound knowledge in automation, systems engineering, measurement and control technology, communication technology, artificial intelligence or image processing
- Practical experience in the automation of mobile and hybrid systems
- In-depth knowledge in navigation, localisation, path planning, sensor data fusion, kinematics, kinetics and safety technology
- Ideally experience with autonomous vehicles, mobile work machines or industrial robotics applications
- Proven experience in research and development as well as in managing demanding projects
- Well-networked profile with contacts to industry and research partners
- Engaging, integrative personality with enthusiasm for teaching, research and collaboration
A higher education didactic qualification is an advantage or can be acquired during the first years at FHNW.
