Job Description

As a Senior Java / Web Developer, you support our "web solutions" team in fulfilling exciting customer requirements around the architecture and development of modern web portals and web applications.

Customer, project manager, designer, and developer work hand in hand with us. You support the team in all project phases and actively contribute your expertise as a Java and web specialist. In addition to project work, you work on the further development of our standards and actively follow market trends.

What to expect

• You design modern software architectures together with our customers
• You independently or as part of a team implement demanding and technologically leading solutions based on Java and Liferay Digital Experience Platform
• Software development and implementation in the environment of backend and service architectures in cooperation with our frontend developers
• Compliance with security standards during development is a matter of course for you
• You partially take over existing customer projects and bring your gained experience into new projects
• You help develop technical solution architectures and create specifications and concepts.

What you should bring

• Computer scientist FH/HF or equivalent education
• At least 3 years of professional experience as a Java / Web developer at professional / senior level
• Outstanding knowledge in Java development and service-oriented software architectures
• Good knowledge of services (REST, GraphQL or similar), database systems such as MySQL / MariaDB, and persistence frameworks such as Hibernate
• Experience in the Java portal environment (e.g., Liferay Digital Experience Platform) and Elasticsearch is an advantage
• Knowledge in microservices, containerization, DevOPS, and API management
• You convince with your open source know-how
• Understanding and living agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Solution- and customer-oriented with a high sense of responsibility and quality awareness
• Fluent German and English skills for communication with English-speaking developers
