With nearly 1,500 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics (DRG) is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is spread across 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency department of the Trois-Chêne Hospital, age-related specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.
The position is attached to the SMIR-BS. The SMIR-BS handles acute internal medicine cases, as well as medical rehabilitation (internal medicine & oncology rehabilitation and specialised cardiac rehabilitation). This service primarily admits people (<75 years) requiring multidisciplinary care teams.
Job Description

Thanks to your excellent organisational skills, operational management abilities and leadership, you will supervise the care units (acute and rehabilitation areas). You will contribute to the administration and organisation of the service under the direction of the chief medical officer.
You demonstrate proactivity, rigour and are a source of proposals and initiatives; you ensure the smooth running of the service and promote the quality and safety of care, while ensuring compliance with institutional procedures.
You possess proven managerial skills and provide supervision as well as development of the site teams. You notably demonstrate the ability to support, motivate teams and ensure their ongoing training.
Your communication skills, open-mindedness, listening ability and synthesis skills are valuable assets for success in your role.
Finally, you have the ambition to promote and continue developing clinical and academic activity in the relevant field, as well as the motivation to participate in the Service’s projects.
As a committed and dedicated person, you participate in the design, development and delivery of pre- and post-graduate teaching as well as the promotion of interdisciplinary work and teaching.
Qualifications
You hold the federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You hold an FMH specialist title in general internal medicine and have the right to practise in the canton of Geneva.
You have completed your doctorate.
For non-French-speaking candidates, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
You are a person with excellent communication skills, both within interdisciplinary teams and with patients. You demonstrate dynamism, flexibility and commitment.
