About us
The ISME (Institut suisse de médecine équine) of the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern operates a referral clinic for horses and other equids at the Bern location and a veterinary clinic with a fitness and rehabilitation station as well as a reproduction centre at the Avenches location. Our dedicated team comprises around 60 employees.
Tasks
- Assistance with veterinary examinations and treatments
- Work in the operating theatre including on-call duties at night and on weekends
- Preparation and administration of medications
- Recording of services, medications and consumables in the clinic software
- Trainer for currently two trainee VPAs
- Support in managing the clinic pharmacy and material procurement
- Organisation of clinic laundry in cooperation with the external laundry service
Your profile
- Completed training as VPA (EFZ)
- Confident handling of horses
- High reliability
- Teamwork, flexibility and independent working style
- Trainer qualification or willingness to complete this course
