We are looking for an intern for the topic "Development of a Gas Model for a Thermal Flow Meter" for 9-12 months to complement our team at Endress+Hauser Flowtec AG and contribute to the advancement of measurement technology.
What is this position about?
Are you interested in optimizing the measurement technology of a thermal measuring device? Do you enjoy performing numerical simulations using High Performance Computing (HPC) and tackling real problems with innovative solutions? Would you like to contribute to the further development of thermal flow meters?
In this role, you will actively simulate various substances and flow disturbances in flow meters, evaluate corresponding measurements, and explore ways to optimize them, which play a role worldwide in various industries.
What tasks will you take on?
You will:
- measure and numerically simulate the effects of typical disturbances on ultrasonic flow meters.
- develop methods to optimize disturbance effects.
- improve and validate the existing simulation workflow.
- work closely with engineers from various fields.
- implement your results into practical improvements for measurement technology.
What do we expect from you?
You:
- are studying mechanical engineering or process engineering towards the end of your bachelor's or in your master's degree.
- have knowledge in fluid mechanics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), numerical simulation: e.g., STAR-CCM+, COMSOL, ANSYS, and signal processing.
- are fluent in German and English.
- have software skills in Linux, programming in Python and Java.
- are responsible and show a high willingness to learn.
