The sbv achieves this goal through education and representing their interests in public, through counselling and raising awareness, as well as promoting innovative technologies.
We are looking for you from 1 January 2027 or by arrangement for our counselling centre in Fribourg as
Social Worker 40% (m/f/d)
If you are aiming for a higher employment level, you can combine this position with the also advertised role as a rehabilitation specialist in the field of Low Vision (40%) in our counselling service.
Your workplace is located in the centre of Fribourg. You will be part of a motivated and committed team of eight employees and support them in accompanying people with visual impairments.
Your tasks
- Advising blind and visually impaired people as well as their relatives.
- Initiating and accompanying administrative procedures related to social benefits to which people with visual impairments may be entitled.
- Coordinating rehabilitation measures with the various parties involved (specialists for Low Vision, orientation and mobility, activities of daily living, job coaching, doctors, schools, employers, and insurance companies).
- Individual support and assistance in social and professional rehabilitation.
- Informing and raising awareness among the public and professional circles about the needs of blind and visually impaired people and representing them vis-à-vis authorities and specialist agencies.
Your profile
- Completed studies in Social Work (FH/HES) or an equivalent qualification as a social worker.
- Several years of professional experience as a social worker.
- German or French at native speaker level with very good knowledge of the other language (bilingual activity).
- Good knowledge of social insurance, especially IV and AHV.
- Experience in supporting and rehabilitating people with disabilities.
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and networking.
- Ability to analyse complex situations related to social and professional integration and develop solutions.
- Knowledge of the Fribourg health and social network.
- You hold a driving licence.
