The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population’s needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
A position of games librarian at 25% is open for application within the Saint-Jean Games Library.
Job Description
Participate in the activities of the games library, notably in the following areas:
- Game animation; design, conduct and propose an animation activity in the field of games.
- Welcoming the public.
- Lending games and toys, using the lending software.
- Knowledge of gaming materials, classification according to the ESAR system.
- Creation and arrangement of play areas according to themes.
- Animations in the games library and collaboration off-site (games library parties, game evenings, neighbourhood festivals, open days, family game days…).
- Welcoming school and after-school groups (Giap).
- Collaboration and mutual support within a team of 6 people.
Qualifications
- You must have obtained the training for Supervisory Functions in Leisure Activities (FFETL - CEFOC) or be required to complete it within the first year of employment.
- CFC ASE or any training deemed equivalent.
- An innate sense of social and human relations.
- Good rapport with all generations of people.
- A passion for games and the desire to develop it in others.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the social and/or associative field is an asset.
- Successful experience of teamwork.
- Good knowledge of the social system and the Geneva associative network.
- Availability for events outside regular hours.
Additional Information
- The position requires a certain flexibility and availability for presence during specific animations outside usual hours.
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 8.
- Hours: Tuesday 2pm-4pm, Wednesday 2:30pm-5:45pm, Thursday 4pm-6:45pm, one Saturday out of two 9:15am-12:45pm (subject to change).
