REHAB Basel, Clinic for Neurorehabilitation and Paraplegiology, treats and rehabilitates patients with spinal cord injury, brain injury, and related conditions following accidents or illnesses.
In paraplegiology, we specialize in the treatment of patients with traumatic or disease-related spinal cord injuries. Initial rehabilitation begins immediately after acute medical care in our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). In follow-up rehabilitations, we also treat patients with complications such as pressure ulcers, spasticity, pain, bladder, and bowel disorders.
The interprofessional team deals with topics such as visible and invisible disabilities, coping with crises, new life plans, and ethics, and approaches the different patient situations flexibly and with commitment.
The goal is to achieve and maintain the greatest possible independence in daily life and to enable the best possible reintegration into the social and possibly professional environment.
