The Centre for Social Affairs is one of the largest associations of its kind in Switzerland. On behalf of 28 municipalities with a catchment area of over 100,000 people, we work with great commitment, low-threshold access, and networking in the following areas: Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB), professional guardianship, social counselling, mother and father counselling, addiction counselling, and school social work.
School Social Worker School Grosswangen
The school social work department of the Centre for Social Affairs (Zenso) currently comprises a team of nine professionals (including team management), who work at a total of eleven schools in our member municipalities. The SSA team of Zenso maintains regular professional exchanges (team meetings, intervision, joint training) and is well networked both regionally and cantonally. The internal interfaces with other specialist areas of Zenso are actively maintained (e.g. with KESB, professional guardianship or social counselling).
The position can be filled by one or two persons.
Your tasks
Within the framework of school social work, children and young people, their families, as well as teaching and care staff are supported and advised. The focus is on prevention and early detection, counselling and intervention. The students are from primary and secondary levels.
- First point of contact for students, guardians and teachers on psychosocial issues
- Strengthening students to support them with their challenges and the development of their skills
- Solution-oriented systemic counselling of individuals, groups or entire classes
- Recognition and assessment of risk situations
- Promotion of a positive and supportive school culture through preventive offers
- Coordination and networking with specialist agencies to provide effective support
Your profile
- A completed degree in Social Work or Social Pedagogy (tertiary level)
- Further training in systemic solution-oriented counselling, school social work desired or willingness to pursue further training in this area
- Professional experience in working with children, young people and families
- Resilience, personal responsibility and good self-management
- Teamwork skills and good communication competencies
- Good IT skills (Office, possibly CASEnet)
