Customs Administrator (d/f/m)

In this varied and international role, you will work as part of a team and play a key role within our global Supply Chain organisation. You will act as the interface between internal departments, external logistics and customs partners, and our international logistics locations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Coordination and monitoring of import and export shipments from our warehouse in Switzerland, as well as imports of raw materials from international suppliers into Switzerland
- Preparation, review and coordination of export and customs documentation for international shipments
- Ensuring the efficient, transparent and legally compliant handling of our global flow of goods
- Management and monitoring of logistics service providers within your area of responsibility
- Point of contact for international production sites and internal departments on customs and foreign trade matters
- Maintenance, review and monitoring of customs-related master data
- Review and application of free trade and preferential trade agreements, as well as ensuring compliance with customs and preferential origin regulations
- Communication and coordination with Swiss and German customs authorities, freight forwarders and customs agencies
- Support during customs and foreign trade audits
- Active contribution to cross-functional projects and continuous optimisation of existing processes and procedures

Required experience and skills:
- Successfully completed commercial or business training, complemented by further qualifications in freight forwarding, logistics, customs, foreign trade or Supply Chain Management
- Several years of professional experience in customs, foreign trade, or international import and export operations
- Sound knowledge of international trade and the legally compliant handling of import and export processes, including customs and foreign trade regulations
- Experience in the tariff classification of goods and the application of free trade and preferential trade agreements would be an advantage
- Confident use of ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA, as well as standard Microsoft Office applications; experience with customs clearance software would be an advantage
- Independent, structured and solution-oriented approach to work, combined with a high level of initiative
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with a highly service-oriented approach
- Confident and professional manner, team spirit and enthusiasm for working in an international environment
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
