Career and Study Guidance Counsellor
Vocational Training Office | 70–80 % | Chur
The Career, Study and Vocational Guidance section (OPSC) provides information and offers personal, independent and free advice to adolescents and adults on matters relating to work, studies and career. The OPSC supports career and study choice or career organisation and accompanies individuals in planning their professional future.
For the Vocational Training Office, we are looking for a career and study guidance counsellor (70–80 %) starting 1 January 2027 or by agreement.
- Provide advice and information to adolescents and adults regarding career, school and study choices as well as career planning
- Support clients in using their own resources, acting responsibly and making autonomous decisions
- Maintain collaboration with teachers of lower and upper secondary schools as well as vocational schools in relation to career choice preparation and career planning
- Organise information events for parents and classes
- Maintain regular contacts with schools, training institutions, specialised services and economic representatives
- Participate in internal projects and working groups
- Training as a recognised career and study guidance counsellor or willingness to undertake training
- Competence in counselling and information as well as specialist knowledge of psychology and theories related to career choice, study choice and career
- Ability to present competently and engagingly to young people and adults, parents and teachers
- Preferably knowledge of regional economic structures and the labour market
- Strong commitment, solution orientation, ability to work under pressure and excellent communication skills
- Good oral and written expression skills in German
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
- Flexibility and good organisational sense, as well as a high degree of personal responsibility
