Wädenswil is an attractive town on the left shore of Lake Zurich with around 26,000 inhabitants. Approximately 380 employees work in the city administration, providing comprehensive services to the population on a daily basis.

The municipal properties in Wädenswil are managed centrally. For the maintenance and management of the school buildings of the Glärnisch School Unit, we are looking for a caretaker to start immediately or by arrangement

Caretaker, 100% (Glärnisch School Unit)

Your areas of responsibility include

• Maintenance and cleaning of the assigned properties
• Responsible for the preservation and monitoring of the condition of the entrusted building parts and facilities
• Supervising, operating and checking the technical infrastructure such as locking systems, lifts, sound systems, etc.
• Co-responsible for the professional management of the cleaning staff of the assigned properties
• Support/assistance at events and functions
• Acceptance and handover of event rooms
• Willingness for regular evening, weekend and public holiday shifts
• Willingness to be on call

Your additional/individual tasks are

• Obtaining quotes from craftsmen and accompanying external craftsmen
• Implementation of small construction or technical tasks
• Inspection of all outdoor facilities, including playground equipment
• Report and invoice control
• Support in snow clearance and leaf disposal
• Taking over deputy duties in the absence of the head caretaker

What you bring

• Completed vocational training in a craft or technical field, several years of professional experience as a caretaker in a similar position in the construction and property sector, federal specialist certificate as a caretaker is an advantage
• Craft and technical understanding
• Knowledge of safety issues
• Independence, flexibility and sense of responsibility
• Social skills, good manners and service orientation
• Ability to interact with various groups in the school, sports and cultural environment
• Native German speaker or very good oral and written skills
• Good IT user skills (e.g. MS Office, CAFM tool Campos)
• Driving licence category B
