On behalf of the municipalities, the Cantonal Social Services Office fulfils the task of providing social and addiction support to people and assists them in accessing financial social assistance. To this end, it manages eight regional social services in the canton.
The Addiction Social Service is a specialised counselling centre within the Chur/Plessur/Imboden regional social service. The Chur/Plessur/Imboden regional social service is responsible for ten municipalities with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
Social counselling, addiction support and financial assistance (gr.ch)
For Chur, we are looking for a social worker from 1 December 2026 or by agreement.
- Solution- and resource-oriented social counselling for individuals and families
- Ensuring access to social insurance benefits as well as financial social assistance
- Financial counselling and support for persons with S protection status from Ukraine accommodated in individual housing
- Advice on linguistic, professional and social integration for temporarily admitted foreigners
- Collaboration with social authorities and specialised services
- Other varied, interesting and responsible activities
- Completed training as a social worker BSc/SUP or equivalent qualification
- Aptitude for working with people from different social backgrounds and/or cultural origins
- Strong counselling skills as well as solid specialised knowledge of social assistance law in the field of social insurance
- Affability, ability to cope with intense work rhythms, team spirit, good communication, organisational and administrative skills
- Ideally good knowledge of foreign languages
- Independent and solution-oriented working method
