The Cantonal Tax Office is responsible for the enforcement of the provisions of federal, cantonal, and municipal taxes. It ensures a complete registration of all taxpayers, professional and customer-oriented tax assessment, and uniform tax collection.
Main Department Special Taxes, Property Gains Tax Division
The Property Gains Tax Division is responsible for the correct collection of property gains tax for approximately 12,000 changes of ownership and advance calculations annually, as well as other special cases in the canton of St. Gallen.
