The Office for Culture with its departments for cultural promotion, archaeology, monument preservation, state archive and cantonal library supports cultural diversity and preserves and passes on the cultural heritage in the canton of St.Gallen.
To complement our "Office Management" teams, we are looking for a
Clerk in Accounting (m/f/d)
from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement
Workload: 40 - 50 %
Workplace: St.Gallen
What to expect
- You process the accounts of all departments, especially in the area of cultural promotion as well as lottery fund projects, annual and project contributions
- You are responsible for active cost controlling and ensure transparency in financial processes
- You contribute to the further development of the office's internal control system (ICS)
- You manage accounts receivable and payable and support the planning and year-end closing process
- You regularly question existing financial processes and drive their continuous optimisation
What distinguishes you
- You have a commercial basic education as well as further training in finance and accounting or business administration
- You bring several years of professional experience in finance and accounting (focus: accounting, controlling and ICS)
- You are proficient in SAP and Microsoft 365 and have solid Excel skills, even with complex applications
- You are interested in the diverse topics and tasks of the Office for Culture
- You enjoy working with people, communicate openly and are enthusiastic about new developments and changes
- You appreciate independent work and at the same time see yourself as a team player with a view to common goals
- You are characterised by a structured way of working and keep an overview even in hectic situations
