As the Urban Development Section and part of the City Building Office, we are committed to a future-oriented, sustainable development of the city of Aarau. To this end, we develop strategies, concepts and measures on the key topics of urban planning, mobility, neighbourhood and housing development, ecology and climate as an interdisciplinary team, taking into account social and economic aspects.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for an intern immediately or by arrangement
You will be actively involved in various exciting planning and development processes and support the project managers of urban development in the areas of spatial planning and mobility.
Spatial planning and urban development:
Participation in the development of future-proof inner-city areas
Collaboration in the review and design of special use plans
Support in urban development projects, for example in the areas of housing development, interim uses and neighbourhood development
Mobility
Collaboration in the implementation of shared spaces in residential neighbourhoods
Support in the implementation of immediate measures in bicycle traffic
Participation in the expansion of the Aarau cycle network (comfort routes)
Collaboration in further projects to promote sustainable mobility
Other tasks
Assumption of administrative and organisational tasks
Support in internal and external communication
Assistance in responding to enquiries from politics and the public
The selection of projects is individual and oriented towards your interests, skills and development priorities.
You have (or are about to obtain) a Bachelor’s degree from OST University of Applied Sciences in "Urban, Transport and Spatial Planning", a Master’s degree in "Spatial Development and Infrastructure Systems" from ETH Zurich or a comparable qualification. You are interested in issues of urban development, spatial planning and sustainable mobility and show an affinity for political processes as well as public planning tasks. Furthermore, you are articulate, communicative and curious and have an interest in interdisciplinary projects. Your precise and independent working style will assist you in project work.
