Tasks
Finance and Accounting: You independently manage mandates in accounting (main and subsidiary ledgers), embedded within a team with different areas of expertise.
Accounts Receivable and Payable Processes: You support the offices (including museums) in optimising their accounts receivable and payable processes, manage master data, and perform other tasks including VAT accounting.
Diverse Task Portfolio: Your further duties include independently handling physical and electronic accounting correspondence within the Presidential Department as well as with other departments and third parties. Additionally, you prepare reports on main and subsidiary ledgers for the offices.
Knowledge & Implementation: You ensure knowledge transfer through active communication within the team (also in the context of supervising apprentices) and implement the recommendations of the financial control according to the instructions of superiors.
Profile
Experience: You have several years of professional experience in accounting/finance. Ideally, you have knowledge of financial processes in cantonal administration. You possess good knowledge of digital processes in financial accounting and are confident in both SAP FI/CO and MS Office applications. Knowledge of SAP SD is an advantage.
Personality: You have a quick grasp, are a team player, reliable and resilient. You work precisely and complete your tasks efficiently and independently. The frequent change between different accounting mandates and specialist topics requires a high degree of flexibility.
Education: You have successfully completed further training as an accounting clerk.
Language: Good communication skills and confident written and spoken German complete your profile.

The General Secretariat is the hub of the Presidential Department of Basel-Stadt. It provides a variety of services for different areas: from culture, cantonal and urban development, equality and diversity to the Statistical Office and location marketing. It is responsible for the smooth and timely handling of the department’s business and also represents the department at conferences and in working groups. The services of the General Secretariat directly support the Presidential Department in advancing various projects and measures.
The Finance & Controlling division is responsible for the financial management of the department and proper and appropriate accounting.
