Legal Auditor (6 to 12 months) 80 - 100%Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is an office of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs over 1,400 dedicated staff from diverse professions. JuWe is primarily responsible for the enforcement of court judgments and the execution of pre-trial detention. For the employees of the office, preventing recidivism and the successful social reintegration of offenders is of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. The JVA Pöschwies, with 399 places, is the largest closed correctional facility in Switzerland for male offenders. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, is responsible for the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
As of July 1, 2026 (or by agreement), we have a temporary auditor position in the legal service of JVA Pöschwies to fill for 6 to 12 months. This position offers insight into the exciting daily operations of enforcement as well as the associated enforcement and administrative legal questions and processes.
This is your field of activity
- You draft various orders, especially in disciplinary proceedings, and clarify legal questions under guidance or in cooperation with other lawyers
- You prepare and conduct hearings in disciplinary proceedings
- You write statements in appeal and complaint cases and, if necessary, draft opinions for authorities or (inter)national organizations
- You contribute to the creation of internal instructions, information sheets, process workflows, etc., as well as projects
- You participate in the weekly department head meetings and provide legal information as needed
- You provide legal information to employees
- You perform administrative tasks
What you bring
- Master’s degree in law; initial internship experience is an advantage
- Very good written and spoken German
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite
- You have an impeccable reputation
- You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary work environment
