Apprenticeship FAGE EFZ

As a Health Specialist (FaGe), you care for our residents in their daily lives and provide them with the greatest possible security and orientation assistance. In doing so, you take on tasks in care and nursing, nutrition, and administration.

• You support the residents with hygiene and personal care (shower, bath, toilet), dressing and undressing, shaving and grooming. In doing so, you promote the greatest possible independence of the people cared for and build a trusting relationship
• You assist with meal intake, support the residents in using wheelchairs or walkers, and help bedridden individuals to lie down and reposition
• You support them in daily life and activities
• You observe the health condition, document it, and report changes to the professionals
• You learn to measure temperature and blood pressure, as well as to take the pulse
• Collect blood and urine samples and send them to the laboratory
• Prepare medication and administer it according to nursing staff instructions, give injections
• Change bandages and care for wounds
• You learn hygiene and safety rules and apply them, dispose of used materials properly and environmentally friendly, clean and disinfect instruments
• You learn the nursing process and experience the rules of professional nursing documentation
• Administrative work on the computer is also part of the responsibilities
