We are looking for an apprentice cook who can start directly in the second year of apprenticeship.
Responsibilities:
- Develop dishes and menus based on seasons, products, clientele, etc.
- Create recipes, try various products to renew the restaurant menu, apply dietary principles for a healthy and balanced diet
- Evaluate the quantities of goods to order based on recipes, reservations, and sales forecasts
- Control the delivered foodstuffs and determine their quality based on known criteria (origin, cultivation method, freshness, etc.)
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of food to be cooked: peel vegetables, wash them, cut meat, determine the quantity of various ingredients, etc.
- Taste the dishes that complement the menu: soup, salad, meat, vegetables, dessert, etc., using the appropriate devices and utensils
- Apply various cooking methods: blanching, sautéing, poaching, steaming, braising, gratin, roasting, grilling, etc.
- Carefully garnish the dishes or plates; pass them to the service staff
Profile:
- Completed mandatory schooling
- Previous internships in the kitchen already completed
- Strong passion for cooking
- First year of apprenticeship already validated
- Very good knowledge of French (oral and written)
- Good knowledge of English (oral and written)
- Open to working in an international and multicultural environment
- Good stress resistance
- Flexibility and high motivation
