The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general aim of preventing social exclusion.
Open for application for an outreach social work position (TSHM) Meyrin Transit, for an 80% sociocultural animator post.
Job Description
- Ensure proximity prevention work and mediation with young people who are socially disconnected and/or seeking social integration, through various means such as street work, sport, accompanied managed premises, small jobs, etc.
- Ensure the organisation and management of a drop-in service (reception, information, listening, CV, project, etc.) and guarantee a quality social connection with young people aged 12 to 25 in the municipality.
- Based on observed social issues, and within a team of 8 professionals, participate in the development of collective work, in close collaboration with social workers in the region, existing social structures and municipal authorities.
- Actively participate in the conceptualisation and implementation of targeted actions.
- Assume management and organisational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and the municipality.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level, or an equivalent university qualification
- Experience in outreach social action (street work, accompanied managed premises, support for sports and musical activities, jobs and projects)
- Knowledge of the characteristics of the young population, strong interest and proven ability to work with adolescents / young adults
- Good knowledge and practice in project methodology and situation diagnosis; good ability to interpret complex situations
- Networking skills: collaboration with social actors in the municipality and canton, and local institutions; good knowledge of the Geneva social network
- Ability to work independently, while actively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, a manager and a regional coordinator, in coherence and respect with other social workers in the region and the Institution’s requirements
- Initiative, creativity, sense of responsibility, flexibility, dynamism
- Good experience in organisation and planning, managing priorities and emergencies
- Report writing skills, use of common computer software, rigor and respect for deadlines

- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 15
