About the job

Business Economist Large Cases
The Swiss National Bank (SNB) compiles Switzerland's foreign trade statistics (balance of payments, direct investments and foreign assets). For this purpose, it collects and analyses data from multinational companies. To strengthen our Large-Case Management team, we are looking for a committed business economist.
In this role, you apply your knowledge of accounting and corporate finance in a macroeconomic context. You operate at the interface between multinational companies, accounting and official statistics and work closely with economists. In doing so, you make a direct contribution to the quality of Switzerland's foreign trade statistics.
Data analysis and case processing:
- Checking, validating and analysing economic data reported by multinational companies on financial and real economic foreign linkages (SNB reporting);
- Analysing complex business cases and developing statistical booking solutions for foreign trade statistics;
- Ensuring data quality and performing coherence checks with other economic statistics.
Consulting and collaboration with companies:
- Advising companies on the statistical representation of complex business cases and transactions from balance sheets and income statements;
- Supporting companies in improving data quality in SNB reporting;
- Building and maintaining trusting relationships with company contacts, including company visits.
Project and conceptual work
- Contributing to the further development of surveys, processes and tools as well as the systematic management of large multinational corporate groups;
- Working on conceptual issues at the interface of financial accounting, national accounting and statistics.
- Master's degree in business economics or comparable qualification;
- Several years of professional experience or additional qualification in accounting, controlling, corporate finance or auditing, ideally in an international environment;
- Knowledge of international accounting standards as well as industry knowledge (e.g. pharmaceuticals, commodity trading or financial and insurance services) is an advantage;
- Analytical mindset and enjoyment in structuring and clearly communicating complex economic issues;
- Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration with companies as well as specialists from business and economics.
Our offer
We offer you a responsible role in the service of Switzerland's overall interests - with a tangible contribution to the economy, population and a stable financial system.

Equal opportunities, progressive conditions and the compatibility of work and private life are a matter of course for us.
With targeted support, modern working models and an environment of trust, we support your personal and professional development.
