About the job

The University Children’s Hospital Basel (UKBB) is an independent, university competence centre for paediatrics and adolescent medicine as well as for teaching and research in Northwestern Switzerland. Due to a retirement in the team, we are looking for our accredited paediatric laboratory for 1 January 2027 or by arrangement for a Deputy Head Dipl. Biomedical Analyst HF 100%.

Start date: 1 January 2027 or by arrangement

Your tasks

• Deputy professional and organisational management of the paediatric laboratory
• Participation in the leadership, deployment planning and development of the laboratory team
• Professional support and induction of new employees
• Ensuring efficient and smooth laboratory processes
• Co-responsibility for quality management according to DIN EN ISO 15189 as well as for its further and new development
• Collaboration in the introduction and optimisation of new analytical methods and laboratory processes
• Ensuring compliance with quality, hygiene, safety and occupational health standardsConducting and validating medical-technical laboratory analyses (haematology, coagulation and special analytics)
• Conducting and monitoring internal and external quality controls

Your profile

• Completed training as a certified BMA HF or training qualification with SRK recognition
• Several years of professional experience in a medical laboratory, ideally with initial leadership or deputy experience
• Good knowledge of common laboratory information systems
• Very good user skills in Microsoft Office
• High social competence as well as enjoyment in collaborating with and developing employees
• Good communication skills and cooperation with the management team, interdisciplinary departments and external institutions
• Organisational talent, initiative and sense of responsibility
• Interest in the further development of processes and quality standards
