Med. Medical Practice Assistant 80 - 100%The Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
As part of the Zurich Remand Prisons (UGZ), Winterthur Prison (GFW) takes on central tasks in the area of detention without sentence. The focus is on remand and security detention as well as the admission of persons in provisional custody. A total of 101 detention places are available for this purpose.
The main department Medical Service ensures the medical-somatic basic care for the incarcerated persons in all correctional institutions of the Canton of Zurich. As a central organisational unit, it guarantees a harmonised and high-quality healthcare according to the equivalence principle and works closely with the Psychiatric-Psychological Service and the JuWe institutions.
Your tasks
- Organisation and assistance during somatic, psychiatric and dental consultations
- Conducting diagnostic examinations (ECG, laboratory, etc.) and therapeutic measures (dressing changes, injections)
- Co-responsibility for material and medication management as well as the administration of the pharmacy
- Administrative tasks such as billing and correspondence with external interfaces
- Accompanying and supporting incarcerated persons in everyday life as well as in crisis situations
- First intervention in medical and psychiatric emergencies
Your profile
- Training as a Medical Practice Assistant EFZ
- Interest in the care and support of incarcerated persons of various origins and nationalities
- High social competence, flexibility and sense of responsibility
- Committed, team-oriented and resilient personality
- Respectful and professional interaction with patients and staff
- Minimum age 25 years
- IT affinity as well as good foreign language skills
- Impeccable reputation
