Social Worker for Addiction Counseling

On behalf of the municipalities, the Cantonal Social Services Office fulfills the task of providing social and addiction-related assistance to people and supports them in accessing economic social assistance. To this end, it manages eight regional social services in the canton’s regions.
The Social Service for Addiction Issues is a specialized counseling center within the regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden. The regional social service is responsible for 11 municipalities, with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
For Chur, we are looking for a social worker starting May 1, 2026 or by agreement.
- Counseling for people affected by addiction and their families
- Solution- and resource-oriented social counseling for individuals and families
- Ensuring access to social insurance benefits as well as economic social assistance
- Collaboration with social authorities and specialized services
- Other varied, interesting, and responsible activities
- Completed training as a social worker BSc/SUP or equivalent qualification
- Aptitude for working with people from different social backgrounds and affected by addiction
- Counseling skills as well as specific knowledge in addiction counseling, social assistance law, and social insurance sector
- Friendliness, ability to handle intense work rhythms, team spirit, good communication, organizational, and administrative skills
- Ideally good knowledge of foreign languages
- Independent and solution-oriented working method
