Social Worker
Graubünden Social Services Office | 80–100% | Chur
On behalf of the municipalities, the Cantonal Social Services Office fulfils the task of providing social and addiction support to individuals and assists them in accessing financial social assistance. To this end, it manages eight regional social services across the canton.
The regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden is responsible for 10 municipalities with a catchment area of 67,000 people.
Social counselling, addiction support and financial assistance (gr.ch)
For the Chur location, we are looking for a social worker starting 1 August 2026 or by arrangement. The position is currently fixed-term until 31 March 2028. There will probably be the possibility to extend the employment contract.
- Solution- and resource-oriented social counselling for individuals and families
- Ensuring access to social insurance benefits as well as financial social assistance
- Advising on linguistic, professional and social integration for recognised refugees, provisionally admitted persons and foreigners
- Collaboration with social authorities and specialised services
- Other varied, interesting and responsible activities
- Completed training as a social worker BSc/SUP or equivalent qualification
- Aptitude for working with people from different social backgrounds and/or cultural origins
- Strong counselling skills as well as solid specific knowledge of social assistance law in the field of social insurance
- Friendliness, ability to cope with intense work rhythms, team spirit, good communication, organisational and administrative skills
- Ideally good knowledge of foreign languages
- Independent and solution-oriented working method
