As the ward manager of the acute department, you are responsible for the professional and personnel management and work practically within your team. You support the staff in ensuring the smooth operation of daily business and in the nursing care in the acute area.
As a regional hospital/acute hospital with emergency services, nursing home and Spitex, we are responsible for the medical basic care of the Davos population and guests. Equally important to us is the well-being of our employees. With us, you work in a manageable but extremely important operation for the region. Ward Manager Acute Department (80–100%)
Your area of responsibility
- Comprehensive nursing care of inpatient and outpatient patients
- Planning and documentation of the nursing process in close coordination with the qualified nursing staff
- Planning, coordination and supervision of nursing in cooperation with the medical service and the interdisciplinary services
- Responsibility for leadership, deployment and development of directly subordinate employees, conducting regular appraisal interviews
- Support and advice to the nursing team in complex care situations
- Ensuring a high quality of nursing and continuous optimisation of workflows
- Responsibility for the cost centre of the acute department
- Regular participation in nursing management meetings
Your profile
- Completed tertiary-level training in nursing and several years of professional experience in an acute hospital
- Proven leadership experience or willingness to undertake appropriate further training
- Enjoyment of a seasonally influenced operation with an intense phase in winter in the enlarged team, lively summer months and quieter times in the off-season
- Strong communication and organisational skills, high social competence, sense of responsibility, empathy and assertiveness
- Independent, innovative and goal-oriented working style
- Respectful and appreciative interaction with the team as well as with patients
- Excellent oral and written German skills
