About the job
Bern is the most liveable city in the world. There is no two ways about it for us. Clean water, environmentally friendly electricity and cosy warmth. Everything you need to feel comfortable comes from us (agreed, almost everything). And perhaps soon from you too.
These are your tasks
- Network monitoring & control: Ensure continuous monitoring of the networks in the areas of electricity, gas, water, district heating as well as the infrastructure for public transport via control and process control systems
- Fault and incident management: Quickly detect, analyse and assess deviations or failures, and initiate initial measures to limit damage and restore normal operation
- Resource deployment & dispatching: Specifically call up and coordinate on-call and service teams, technicians as well as external service providers on site
- Interface & crisis communication: Ensure smooth information and cooperation with internal specialist departments, emergency organisations (blue light organisations), authorities and the public transport operations control centre
- Switching orders: You ensure that switching orders in the medium and high voltage network are executed correctly
- Documentation: Record incidents, switching actions and events in the operations log without gaps
This is what sets you apart
- Basic training in a technical discipline (e.g. electrician, automation technician, network electrician, etc.), optionally with a completed professional examination
- Experience in the use of fault rectification processes in a technical environment (e.g. energy, building, house or service technology)
- Familiar with Microsoft 365, especially with MS Office applications and Microsoft Teams
- Good IT skills, ideally also of control systems and control devices
- Willingness to work in shifts
- Resilient personality who remains calm and composed and acts confidently even in hectic situations
- Very good communication skills as well as a confident and error-free command of German (spoken and written)
- Enjoy working independently as well as in a team
