Job Description
Your Team & Your Mission
In our Data, Analytics & Technology (DAT) division, the Valuation Model Team brings together diverse professional and technical backgrounds and works closely at the Zurich and Geneva locations. We are a well-coordinated team where knowledge is shared, initiative is encouraged, and new ideas are valued. Together, we develop data-driven solutions that make a concrete contribution to real estate valuation – from modelling through ongoing development to integration into our products.
In this role, you will actively shape the further development of our real estate valuation models. You combine statistical modelling, machine learning, and modern AI methods with an understanding of their practical application, while helping us make our model and update processes more efficient and robust.
Our models are used in various areas of real estate valuation – from estimating sale prices for single-family homes and condominiums to valuing income properties and modelling rents, costs, and capitalisation rates.
If you enjoy solving challenging quantitative problems and developing models and concrete solutions from data, you can expect a versatile role with visible impact.
Your Responsibilities
- You develop, maintain, and improve our real estate valuation models, especially quantitative and hedonic models for valuation, analysis, and forecasting.
- You design, estimate, and validate statistical and machine learning models and evaluate new AI-based approaches for their further development.
- You analyse large and heterogeneous datasets and derive improvements for models and data.
- You ensure the regular updating of our models and optimise the corresponding processes regarding automation, efficiency, and robustness.
- You continuously develop our modelling, validation, and monitoring processes.
- You interpret model results and present complex quantitative relationships in an understandable way.
- You work closely with subject matter experts, software developers, and other data science and analytics teams and accompany the models through to their practical application.
- You engage with our clients, support them with technical questions, and share your knowledge in training sessions and presentations.
Qualifications
Your Profile
- You have a university degree in a quantitatively oriented field, such as statistics, data science, mathematics, econometrics, economics, or a comparable discipline.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in data science, quantitative modelling, analytics, research, or consulting.
- You possess solid knowledge in statistics, regression analysis, and machine learning, as well as experience in data modelling and analysis.
- You have very good programming skills, ideally in R and/or Python.
- You are interested in modern AI methods and enjoy pragmatically applying them to further develop models and processes.
- Knowledge of the real estate market or experience with real estate valuation, hedonic, or spatial models is an advantage.
- You think analytically, work in a structured manner, and enjoy pragmatically solving complex quantitative problems.
- You can communicate complex technical and analytical content clearly and present yourself confidently and professionally to clients.
- You have very good communication skills in German and English; knowledge of French is an advantage.
