The Kartause Ittingen – a former monastery – is today one of the leading seminar and cultural centers in Switzerland. Our guests have access to a hotel with 68 rooms (3 stars superior), a restaurant, a bar in the former ox stable, various event locations with around 1,000 seats, and 22 seminar rooms with up to 450 seats. In a unique historical setting, we offer an incomparable framework for diverse social and cultural events. In addition to the hospitality business, Kartause Ittingen operates an estate with viticulture, a butcher's shop, fish farming, a nursery, and a cheese dairy, as well as a home and workshop for supported employees. We are a leading company in terms of sustainability; our efforts have been recognized with the ibex fairstay Label Platinum.
Entry is by arrangement.
During six to nine months, you will get to know the areas of service and kitchen and go through all areas of classical gastronomy: banquet and à la carte service, garden restaurant, seminar catering, and operational events as well as all areas of the classical kitchen. We are happy to plan the focus individually according to your personal preferences and goals. If interested, occasional insights/deployments in our viticulture, cheese dairy, butcher's shop, nursery/floristry, reservation, and reception are possible. With a lot of personal responsibility, you will work in a professional, guest-oriented, and motivated team.
With this internship position, we are looking for an open-minded and enthusiastic host personality who wants to expand their practical experience in one of the most versatile gastronomy businesses in Switzerland.
Varied and exciting tasks await you in a noticeably positive working atmosphere. Rooms for employees are available if needed.
We pay internship salaries between CHF 2,385.– and CHF 3,500.– and work in the kitchen without room hours.
