Stäfa is an attractive, liveable and vibrant municipality on the right shore of Lake Zurich. The municipal administration sees itself as a competent service centre for the still growing population, currently with around 15,200 inhabitants. The long-standing head of the Social Department will retire in March 2027. For this reason, we are looking for his successor:
Your tasks:
You are responsible for leading the department and shaping its professional, personnel and organisational development. Together with your teams, you ensure professional, legally compliant and needs-based support for the population.
- Leadership and Development: Overall responsibility for the Social sector including the specialist areas of welfare, children/youth/family and asylum
- Strategy and Organisation: Further development of services, processes and structures as well as ensuring efficient task fulfilment
- Professional Responsibility: Ensuring qualitative, legally compliant and impact-oriented casework as well as preparing decision-making bases suitable for resolutions
- Collaboration: Coordination with internal offices, authorities, specialist organisations and external partners
- Management and Advice: Budget responsibility, resource planning and professional advice to superior bodies and political committees
Your profile:
- University of Applied Sciences degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law and/or Public Management
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in the social sector, ideally in a municipal environment
- Sound knowledge of social assistance law as well as relevant legal and professional foundations
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Strategic thinking, decisiveness and a pragmatic approach to complex issues
- High social competence, negotiation skills and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
- Team-oriented approach and strong service mentality
