About the job
In Embrach, we work together daily to provide a varied and high-quality catering service for our residents as well as other guests. To strengthen our kitchen team, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a committed and reliable individual as an Assistant Cook (80–100%). Look forward to a diverse role in a collegial environment where teamwork and quality are central.
Your Tasks
- Preparing sandwiches, cold plates, and salads in the cold kitchen
- Serving in the restaurant as well as on the catering line
- Cleaning dishes and kitchen utensils
- Clearing, sorting, and supplying dishes
- General cleaning duties
- Disposing of all types of waste
- Monitoring and complying with personal, operational, and legal hygiene regulations in all catering areas.
- Obligation to provide and collect information
Your Profile
- Experience in the catering sector
- Good knowledge of German
- Tractor driving experience for transport service
- Flexible, resilient (food logistics for the wards, one trolley weighs 250 KG), reliable
- Team player, enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration
- Service-oriented

About Us
The KZU, with its two in-house day care centres, operates two care centres in Bassersdorf and Embrach as well as three care apartments in Nürensdorf and Winkel. It primarily offers a home to elderly, care-dependent people and, alongside various specialised services, a wide range of outpatient services. The KZU employs around 600 staff, including 75 apprentices and students across 17 different professional groups.
