Your Team

You will be part of a dynamic team of eight Materials & Process Engineers in Zurich. Together, we develop satellite structures and mechanisms that are manufactured on-site and delivered to our international customers.

In our multicultural environment, you will work with a wide range of materials, manufacturing technologies, and space systems. As a Senior Engineer, you will take on an important technical role and actively contribute your expertise to the further development of our products, processes, and technologies. Your Mission

• Responsibility for the selection, development, qualification, and optimisation of materials and manufacturing processes for individual parts, components, and complete assemblies
• Definition, planning, coordination, evaluation, and documentation of development, characterisation, verification, and qualification tests for materials and manufacturing processes
• Technical support of the engineering organisation (design, analysis, systems engineering) in material and process selection during product development
• Support for procurement, production, and quality in the introduction of new processes as well as in handling non-conformances
• Assuming technical responsibility for complex M&P topics and actively accompanying development and industrialisation projects
• Proactive and independent management of costs, schedules, and technical risks of the responsible M&P activities
• Creation and further development of technical specifications, procurement requirements, manufacturing documents, and technical guidelines in German and/or English
• Technical representation of M&P in customer and supplier meetings, reviews, negotiations, and collaboration with subcontractors
• Active support and technical leadership of improvement initiatives to optimise quality, costs, schedules, and manufacturing processes
• Bringing in your own expertise as well as coaching and supporting less experienced colleagues within the M&P team

Your Profile

• Completed Master’s degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a comparable technical discipline
• At least 5-7 years of professional experience in a comparable materials and processes environment, ideally in space, aviation, or another high-tech industry
• Fluent German skills (at least C1) are mandatory, especially for the creation and maintenance of production and manufacturing documentation; English (fluent) is a must.
• Solid and practical knowledge in:
• metallic materials
• CFRP/composite materials and their manufacturing processes
• surface treatments
• adhesives and bonding processes
• experience in the qualification and industrialisation of materials and manufacturing processes
• strong ability to independently take responsibility for technical topics while actively managing interfaces and projects
• experience in collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
• ability to analyse technical matters in a structured way, communicate clearly, and drive decisions based on facts
• high sense of responsibility, initiative, as well as a systematic, careful, and independent working style
• enjoyment in taking responsibility, driving improvements, and developing others through your own expertise
• experience with ESA (European Space Agency)
