Electronics technicians develop and implement electronic hardware and software. They improve existing solutions or develop new ones in the fields of computer technology, experimental, measurement and testing technology, as well as in the production of electronic products. The professionals analyse, for example, the functions of existing schematics or develop new computer programmes. They manufacture electronic products, plan and supervise their production, and carry out measurement, testing, maintenance work, as well as commissioning.

- Completed secondary school
- Good performance in mathematics and physics

- Technical interest and understanding of abstract processes

- Completion of the vocational baccalaureate (BMS) during or after the apprenticeship
- Professional examination as an automation specialist, process specialist or production specialist
- Training as a higher technical college (HF) technician, e.g. specialising in electronics, computer science, mechanical engineering, etc.
