Our Linux team forms the technical backbone for the digital services of Zürcher Kantonalbank. You operate and develop with us the platform on which central applications, services, and security solutions run – from classic Linux servers to containerised workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift. In an environment with growing importance of Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, and cybersecurity, you help shape a modern, highly automated infrastructure and platform landscape and contribute your expertise in Linux, automation, and software development.
Your tasks
- Responsible for the entire lifecycle of our Linux-based server and platform infrastructure from conception and setup through implementation to operation, optimisation, and continuous further development
- Contributing to the design and construction of our new virtualisation platform
- Implementing technical and organisational measures to reduce cyber risks in the infrastructure and platform environment
- Automating the entire server lifecycle including provisioning, patching, and decommissioning as well as developing reusable automation services and internal APIs
- Operating and further developing our automation and orchestration tools (e.g. GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Designing and implementing APIs, CLI tools, and service components to enable other teams easy and secure self-service access to the infrastructure
- Analysing and resolving disruptions as well as conducting systematic root cause analyses including sustainable remediation in the form of improvements to automation, hardening, and interfaces
- Taking on on-call duties as part of infrastructure operations
Your profile
- Completed training in computer science or equivalent qualification with a focus on system technology, DevOps, or software engineering
- Many years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or Platform Engineer, ideally in a Red Hat-based environment
- Confident handling of OpenShift or Kubernetes, as well as experience with Git, container technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Solid knowledge in at least one programming language such as Python or Go as well as the ability to develop maintainable code for tools, interfaces, and automations
- Experience in designing and implementing APIs (e.g. REST, OpenAPI), ideally including authentication/authorisation, logging, and monitoring
- Experience in using automation and configuration management frameworks such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, or comparable tools
- High willingness to learn, openness to new technologies, and enjoyment of an agile and collaborative working style
- Very good German skills, good English skills are an advantage
