Calculation Engineer m / f / d (80-100% workload)
Your role
You are responsible for creating and reviewing design calculations (both analytical and using finite element methods) for mechanical component groups, valves, vessels, and pumps in conventional and nuclear fields. You thus establish the computational basis for the manufacture of components and systems and have the opportunity to contribute your experience to the projects.
Your responsibilities
- Performing and checking static, dynamic, and thermal calculations using finite element analyses (Ansys), pipe system analyses (ROHR2), or analytical methods
- Preparing strength verification reports according to the requirements of standards, codes, and the state of the art
- Supporting design in new product development
Your profile
- Technical basic education with diploma or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
- Solid basic knowledge of finite element methods
- Several years of professional experience in structural mechanical calculation in mechanical and plant engineering (numerical and analytical)
- You are familiar with relevant guidelines and standards such as ASME VIII or III, Eurocode, and EN standards for pressure equipment and piping
- Several years of experience with FE software (preferably Ansys)
- You are reliable, a team player, flexible, and able to work independently
- You communicate openly, factually, and goal-oriented
- You have good oral and written expression in German as well as good English skills
