Job Description

In Room Dining Intern / Pureaty Café 6 months – M/F

The In Room Dining / Pureaty Café Intern offers you the quality of our restaurants and services, in-room and by the poolside, so you can experience an unforgettable moment of relaxation!

Summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the In Room Dining Supervisor, the essential responsibilities and functions of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently providing professional, friendly, and engaging service
• Being responsible for the proper execution of setups and preparation of your area in collaboration with your superior
• Having a perfect knowledge of the In Room Dining and Pureaty Café food and beverage menu
• Assisting guests regarding menu composition in an informative and helpful manner
• Performing opening and closing duties of the department
• Checking the order before serving it to the guest and ensuring dishes are served according to standards
• Serving the order to the guest in the room discreetly
• Ensuring guest satisfaction and well-being
• Ensuring the cleanliness of cutlery arranged on trays and tables at Pureaty Café
• Responding to guest requests
• Participating in replacements
• Participating in cleaning duties of your department
• Knowing LQA technical and emotional standards
• Striving to perfect your technical and theoretical knowledge to ensure perfect service for a demanding clientele
• Communicating any potential problems to your superior and respecting work plans and schedules as well as directives and decisions made by your superior
• Actively participating in service in other departments or events taking place at the hotel, upon request of your superiors
• Committing to the quality of your service, discretion, and perfect honesty
• Maintaining a professional attitude, smiling, and staying calm at all times
• Being flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially if required to work in another department occasionally
• Respecting ergonomic work standards in health & safety rules, hygiene, and sanitary prescriptions
• Respecting the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
• Communicating any potential problems to your superior
• Any other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Internship as part of a hotel training program or in view of a hotel training program
• Fluency in French
• Excellent knowledge of English
• Ability to work effectively as a team under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Smiling voice
• Sense of discretion
• Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and handle last-minute changes
• Flexibility and initiative
• Knowledge of other foreign languages is an asset

Physical requirements of the position: 
Physical requirements of the position include, but are not limited to: 

• Constant: standing and walking throughout the work period
• Constant: lifting and carrying loads
• Constant: kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Frequent: climbing up or down stairs and ramps
• Pureaty: maintaining continuous work pace outdoors (sun, heat)

To be able to work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
