The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.

Serving families in the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .

To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 places for minors and young adults, offering educational outpatient services at home. The FOJ employs 670 staff members.

The FOJ is looking for an intern tutor for its La Spirale residence for a period of 10 months.

Job Description

• Participation in activities planned within the framework of the internship plan and the educational objectives set by the school
• Support for adolescents in their educational journey, notably through homework help and learning support.

Job Specifics

• Irregular working hours.

Work rate: 100%
Contract type: internship
Internship dates: as soon as possible

Holidays must be taken at the same time as school holidays.

Qualifications

• Holder of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the social, educational field or a related discipline, wishing to undertake an internship as part of a specialisation and further training (tripartite contract between the training institution, the student and the FOJ)
• Strong interest in working with adolescents aged 13 to 18 and availability to work irregular hours
• Interest in educational support, notably homework help and support for young people from various training or apprenticeship pathways
• Excellent listening, observation and communication skills, as well as the ability to establish a trusting relationship with young people
• Patience, kindness, organisational skills and autonomy in carrying out assigned tasks
• Experience with adolescents or young adults is an asset.

Must be Swiss nationality or hold a valid work permit.
