The Swiss Animal Protection STS is the umbrella organisation of 70 animal protection organisations from all language regions of Switzerland as well as Liechtenstein. As the largest nationally active animal protection organisation, we are committed with passion and scientifically sound foundations to the welfare of pets, wild animals, farm animals, and laboratory animals.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated individual as
Project Manager STS Label Compass (80-100%)
who will professionally and operationally co-design and further develop the Swiss Label Compass.
Your contribution to effective animal protection work
You take responsibility for the planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of tasks and measures related to the STS Label Compass. In doing so, you combine expertise in animal welfare and agriculture with project management, digital affinity, and collaboration with various stakeholders.
Together with the Head of Animal Welfare Standards & Knowledge Management, you will further develop the platform professionally and strategically, classify relevant developments in the livestock sector, and contribute to preparing animal welfare standards in an understandable and well-founded manner.
Your tasks
Manage and further develop the STS Label Compass
- You plan, manage, and evaluate tasks and measures related to the STS Label Compass.
- You contribute to the operational and strategic further development of the Swiss Label Compass platform.
- You coordinate tasks, participants, and professional inputs and ensure structured implementation.
Professionally develop animal welfare standards
- You develop animal welfare standards in the livestock sector.
- You monitor relevant developments and issues in the livestock sector, classify them professionally, and prepare decision-making bases.
- You handle and coordinate internal and external professional enquiries within your area of responsibility.
Shape communication, networking, and collaboration
- You contribute professionally to communication measures, campaigns, statements, and other activities of the STS.
- You maintain and develop contacts with professional organisations, authorities, labels, retailers, industry associations, and other stakeholders.
- You participate in expert committees and represent the STS as agreed and on behalf of the supervising authority.
- You contribute to knowledge management as well as to the professional development of the Animal Welfare Standards & Knowledge Management team and the Animal Protection Competence Centre.
What you bring
Professional profile
- University degree (BSc or MSc) in agronomy, animal science, biology, veterinary medicine, food science, or a comparable qualification
- Good knowledge of Swiss agriculture, especially in the field of animal sciences
- Knowledge of the Swiss food sector, particularly in the area of animal products
- Experience in project management and enjoyment in accompanying topics in a structured way from planning to implementation
- Digital affinity and interest in further developing a digital information platform
