About the job
Mission 21 is engaged in projects of sustainable development cooperation as well as humanitarian aid. Our work is guided by the UN Agenda 2030. Mission 21 provides educational work, promotes interreligious understanding, and creates transcultural encounters. Mission 21 is ZEWO and EduQua certified and is supported by the Protestant churches of Switzerland, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), foundations, institutions, and private donors.
Starting immediately or by arrangement, we are looking for a creative, implementation-strong, and experienced personality for the Marketing & Communications department as a Marketing Communications Specialist, 50-60%.
YOUR TASKS
Annual Campaign
You plan and lead the annual campaign from conception to evaluation. Together with the department management, you define goals, target groups, key messages, measures, and schedule. You lead the campaign team professionally, coordinate collaboration with the involved specialist departments, and align tasks, deadlines, and approvals with the team management. You brief and accompany external partners, especially in the development of the key visual with an agency. You are responsible for the editorial and organisational implementation of the campaign materials. These include the campaign magazine with editorial work, text contributions, and rough layout, flyers, as well as photo exhibitions. You plan and produce content for the digital campaign, especially for social media, Google Ads, and the website, ensuring that the measures are consistent across the various channels. You coordinate further campaign activities such as newsletters, events, and presentations. You keep an eye on the budget, monitor the impact of the measures, and derive insights for the next campaign.
Newsletter Marketing
You conceptually develop Mission 21's newsletter marketing further and create a thematic and annual plan. You plan, edit, produce, and send newsletters for different target groups and coordinate the content with the responsible specialist departments. You develop distribution lists and content based on the needs of the respective target groups, maintain addresses in the newsletter tool, and manage the interface to the CRM system Sextant. You analyse the results of the newsletters and optimise content, dispatch, and distribution lists accordingly.
Website
You create and maintain website content and, if necessary, deputise for the management of the WordPress website.
YOUR PROFILE
You have training or further education in marketing and communications and have several years of experience in planning and implementing campaigns, ideally on both agency and client sides. You confidently manage projects through all phases: you set priorities, coordinate different stakeholders, and keep deadlines, quality, and budget in view. You write and edit fluently in German and English. You can communicate complex and sensitive topics clearly, carefully, and appropriately for the target audience. You are familiar with common digital channels and tools and bring practical experience with social media, SEM, and newsletter marketing. Knowledge of WordPress and CRM handling is an advantage. You listen attentively, meet people and their perspectives with respect, and find viable solutions even with differing expectations. You are genuinely interested in international cooperation and the topics of Mission 21. You contribute ideas and enjoy shaping communication together with others that reaches and moves people.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM US
Mission 21 primarily uses its resources for work with its partner organisations and projects. Therefore, we also work with limited resources in communication and set priorities. In return, you will find plenty of room to contribute ideas, develop processes further, and visibly shape campaigns. You will work with committed colleagues on socially relevant topics. We offer flexible working hours, the possibility of home office, and a workplace in the heart of Basel.
