To strengthen our General Secretariat Department, which offers high-level legal and compliance services to our internal units, we are looking for a Senior Legal & Compliance Officer, between 80 and 100%.
The tasks awaiting you:
- Independently manage our compliance system and modernize it, particularly regarding legislative monitoring, internal directives, updating and monitoring regulatory risks and executing associated controls, preparing management reports, managing and facilitating our Compliance Committees and Outsourcing Committees meetings, and training our employees on compliance-related topics (excluding AML);
- Coordinate and lead internally the activities necessary to respond to requests, surveys, and inquiries from supervisory authorities (FINMA, SIX Exchange Regulation, etc.), as well as prepare and support periodic on-site FINMA inspections and make the necessary notifications to ensure the continuous compliance of the operating plan (e.g., for essential outsourced activities);
- Identify and provide legal support to business units in analyzing new legal developments impacting our company, and ensure follow-up on the implementation of necessary measures to guarantee ongoing compliance of operations with regulatory changes (excluding AML), as well as provide legal expertise to regulatory projects as applicable;
- Plan, develop, and conduct training and awareness activities on compliance topics in French and German, together with colleagues from the L&C unit and other company functions;
- Receive and process, in collaboration with the L&C Manager and HR, reports of violations of our Code of Ethics or internal regulations and alerts of unauthorized company data transmissions;
- Collaborate, among others, with our Risk Office, our internal training entity (Campus), and our Fraud Prevention Service on cross-functional or multifaceted compliance topics.
Your profile:
- Master’s degree in Swiss law, postgraduate training in compliance is an asset;
- At least 8 years of professional experience in managing compliance systems (excluding AML) in an insurance company, with a financial intermediary, or a Swiss audit firm, and proven experience in interactions with FINMA;
- Essential experience in implementing and using corporate compliance management tools;
- Knowledge of Swiss private insurance regulations is a major asset;
- Native French speaker with excellent command of German (min. level C1);
- Ability to work and deliver independently while demonstrating team spirit.
You are pragmatic, solution-oriented, very comfortable in your contacts, and possess excellent communication skills.
