Supervisor / Caregiver, fixed-term 80 - 100%With around 1400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of eight main departments of JuWe and the largest closed institution for men in Switzerland. With around 400 detention places and about 300 employees, it contributes according to legal mandate to the protection of the public and at the same time creates the conditions for the resocialisation of the incarcerated persons.
To strengthen our Integration Group (IG), we are looking for committed individuals as supervisors / caregivers to start immediately or by arrangement. The positions are fixed-term until 31 December 2032.
This is your field of activity
- Care, occupation and support of the incarcerated persons in everyday life – you are a reliable contact person
- You ensure an orderly daily routine as well as the consistent implementation of safety and service regulations
- You actively participate in leisure and group activities and promote a structured and meaningful daily schedule
- Administrative tasks such as reports and documentation of important events are carried out carefully and reliably
What you bring with you
- You have completed a vocational training (EFZ), a (specialised) Matura, a specialised middle school certificate or an equivalent qualification
- You enjoy working with people; experience with mentally ill persons is an advantage
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as additional language skills are a plus
- You are confident in using MS Office
- You remain resilient, calm and capable of acting even in demanding situations; shift, on-call and weekend duties are manageable for you
- You are at least 25 years old and have an impeccable record (no entries in criminal and debt registers)
