Project Manager Road Maintenance

Do you want to shape road infrastructure used daily by thousands of people? In this role, you take responsibility for diverse maintenance projects in an exciting catchment area – from Feuerthalen to Fischenthal. You independently manage your projects from planning to realisation, coordinate various stakeholders, and ensure quality, costs, and deadlines are met.

Your tasks

• You plan and organise our civil engineering and road maintenance projects from start to finish.
• You are responsible for costs, deadlines, and quality and keep an eye on your projects throughout all phases.
• You coordinate planners, contractors, and other project participants and ensure a smooth project process.
• You represent the canton’s interests towards municipalities, authorities, companies, and other stakeholders.
• You ensure compliance with relevant standards and requirements and provide comprehensible project documentation.

Your profile

• You have a qualification as a civil engineer (FH/ETH), construction supervisor, or a comparable technical education and bring solid practical experience in civil or road construction.
• You organise and plan proactively and lead your projects independently to success.
• You think economically, set priorities, and find viable solutions even with differing interests.
• You present yourself confidently to various stakeholders and communicate clearly and appropriately for the audience.
• You work solution-oriented and keep an overview even in demanding project situations.

The Road Inspectorate of the Civil Engineering Office of the Canton of Zurich, with around 250 employees, operates and maintains the state roads in the Canton of Zurich. The goal is to achieve high availability and optimal traffic safety as well as the preservation of the value of around 1,310 kilometres of state roads. The portfolio also includes 2,123 km of cycle routes and 2,770 km of hiking trails.
