A public registration is open for the recruitment of a social worker at 50% for the social and community action service of the city of Grand-Saconnex.

Through its actions, the service's mission is to promote social integration and harmonious living together for the inhabitants of Grand-Saconnex. To this end, it proposes and develops specific or community projects to meet the various identified needs. The service staff work in a network with all social structures (state or associative) present in the municipal or cantonal territory and can guide inhabitants to institutions suited to their needs. They stimulate family, local or collective solidarities through the implementation of community actions.

The person sought for this position will be primarily entrusted with the following activities:

• monitor individual situations (administrative or financial) without distinction, for any group or person expressing concerns or difficulties (information, support and advice, guidance);
• collaborate closely with cantonal and communal social bodies for all situations that require it and, if necessary, initiate and coordinate network work around beneficiaries;
• support all members of the service team, provide cover for colleagues if needed;
• initiate and coordinate collective social actions through facilitation and dissemination of information for identified population groups in the territory;
• participate in periodic conferences, projects, working groups related to their role, and facilitate them if necessary.

The appointed person must imperatively meet the following conditions:

• hold a bachelor’s degree in social work (HETS) or any other diploma deemed equivalent;
• have a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience as a social worker;
• be capable of working very autonomously, while possessing a strong team spirit;
• have a good knowledge of the Geneva social, security and health network;
• master the French language perfectly, both spoken and written;
• be officially domiciled in the canton of Geneva;
• be proficient with common computer tools.
