Senior System Engineer Linux

• Setup, operation, and optimization of complex infrastructures with high requirements for availability, security, and performance.
• Further development and optimization of existing customer environments and processes to ensure future-proof solutions.
• Participation in projects both in the conception and implementation of new solutions in close collaboration with ICT system architects and project managers.
• Systems engineering activities in the respective specialist areas.
• Learning and further development through the use of the latest technologies towards Cloud and Kubernetes.

• University of applied sciences, ETH, or university degree in computer science
• At least 8 years of professional experience in Linux systems engineering with solid knowledge in several of the following areas, preferably with corresponding certifications:
• Linux and/or UNIX operating systems
• Orchestration and automation e.g. Ansible
• Server virtualization solutions e.g. VMware vSphere
• Container virtualization e.g. Docker, Podman
• Scripting e.g. Bash Shell, Python
• Databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MongoDB
• Monitoring e.g. CheckMK
• Additional expertise desired
• Analytical and interdisciplinary thinking skills
• Entrepreneurial, responsible, and quality-oriented actions, customer- and result-oriented
• High commitment and flexibility as well as willingness to learn new things
• Structured and goal-oriented approach
• Communicative, team- and conflict-capable personality with good assertiveness

• Experience in regulated industries e.g. banking or payment
• Experience with cloud solutions such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure
• Experience in Kubernetes e.g. OpenShift
• Basic knowledge of Windows
