The Park Retirement Home is located in the heart of the cantonal capital Frauenfeld and is nestled in a beautiful park area. In our regionally rooted centre, around 250 people find a loving home with individual care and support. Guests for short stays and day care are also warmly welcome. Together with our approximately 260 employees and over 40 trainees, we give our best every day to ensure that our residents feel comfortable and at home.Chef / Cook EFZ
What you can achieve:
- Food production; preparation of hot and cold dishes, including soups, salads, meat / fish dishes, side dishes, desserts
- Menu implementation; cooking according to weekly plan, seasonal and regional cuisine, consideration of residents' wishes
- Dietary forms & allergies; diets, allergies, intolerances, pureed food, light full diet, vegan / vegetarian options
- Hygiene & HACCP; control of foodstuffs, storage, temperature management, cleaning work, disposal
- Inventory management; orders, stock control, demand planning, avoidance of food waste
- Plating & serving; visually appealing plating, correct portioning, timely serving
- Banquets & events; birthdays, holidays, special events, resident celebrations
- Teamwork & trainee support; collaboration in the kitchen team, support of trainees
- Resident orientation: friendly interaction, understanding of the needs of older people
What you bring with you:
- Completed training as a Chef / Cook EFZ
- At least 5 years of professional experience, ideally in community catering, care catering or hospitality
- Experience with Cook & Chill
- Knowledge of HACCP & food hygiene
- Trainer qualification an advantage
- Teamwork & communication skills
- Independent, efficient working style
- High quality and service orientation
- Flexibility & willingness to work weekends
- Enjoyment in working with older people
