Would you like to professionally support elderly people and complete a solid, varied training with lots of practical relevance? At the St. Urban nursing home, we offer you an exciting study place for the Dipl. Nursing Specialist HF with a focus on long-term care.

Your training:

During your studies, you will gradually take on responsibility in the care and support of our residents. You will work in various residential groups – including in our Freitag centre in the dementia homes Annemarie and Margrit or in the Eschenberg and Sonnenblick residential groups in the main building.

What to expect:

• Professional care and support of people with long-term illnesses
• Carrying out nursing and medical-technical procedures
• Participation in the nursing process as well as management of nursing documentation
• Assuming specialist and shared responsibility in shift work
• Collaboration in the interdisciplinary team
• Involvement in prevention and quality assurance
• Confident and solution-oriented action even in complex situations

Training model:

• Duration: 3 years (shortened training: 2 years possible)
• Employment throughout the entire training at the St. Urban nursing home
• Training relationship with ZAG Winterthur or Careum Zurich 50% school / 50% practice
• Half-yearly alternation between school and practice
• Training start in March and September each year

You bring with you:

• Federal VET Diploma (EFZ), Matura or Technical College Certificate (FMS)
• Passed aptitude assessment and admission confirmation from ZAG Winterthur or Careum Zurich
• Interest and enjoyment in working with elderly and dementia patients
• High social competence and empathy
• Good observation and perception skills
• Independent, reliable and responsible working style
• Flexibility and willingness to learn
• Very good German skills in spoken and written form
