Tire technicians assess the condition of tires. If a tire is worn out or damaged, they repair or replace it. They dismantle the old tires and wheels and mount new ones using a tire mounting machine. After mounting new tires, they inflate them and clean rims, tires, and, if desired, the entire vehicle. Tasks also include balancing the wheels, which compensates for imbalance – an uneven distribution of mass on the rotating wheel.Tire technicians are also responsible for the proper storage of summer and winter tires. Additionally, they perform simple inspection and service tasks on the vehicle. For example, they check steering, brakes, exhaust, and exterior lighting for visible damage and measure the levels of oil, brake fluid, battery fluid, and other liquids. They work precisely and focused, as assembly errors can have serious consequences.
