Company Description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a reference institution at both national and international levels. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to consult our 2025 retrospective by clicking here .
With nearly 1,500 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics (DRG) is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is spread over 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency services of the Trois-Chêne Hospital, age-specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.
Located in the heart of a wooded park, the Loëx Hospital welcomes patients requiring rehabilitation treatment and whose health condition necessitates improvement of impaired functions with a view to returning home or integration into a suitable institution. The site also includes a waiting area for placement in a nursing home or an adapted facility.
Job Description
As an assistant in care and community health within the maintenance care sector of Loëx Hospital, you support dependent elderly people daily, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team, who are awaiting a place in a medico-social institution and require support for this transition. They receive appropriate care and, when necessary, end-of-life support.
In this role and under the responsibility of nursing staff, you assist patients with their daily living activities. You communicate appropriately with patients and know how to reassure them when needed. You report your interventions to the care team.
You perform medical-technical acts within your competencies independently. This includes measuring blood pressure, preparing medication treatments, changing dressings, and administering injections and samples.
You ensure the maintenance of equipment and furniture and carry out administrative and logistical activities within your unit.
Finally, you contribute to the development of care quality.
Qualifications
You hold the Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as an assistant in care and community health (ASSC) and possess a valid practice licence in the canton of Geneva.
You have demonstrated technical skills in care practice and are recognised as a professional for your interpersonal ease both with patients and the care team. Experience in elderly care is an asset.
You possess great rigour as well as a keen sense of organisation, stress management and prioritisation. Furthermore, you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have a strong interest in the follow-up of elderly patients. You are also comfortable caring for elderly patients with cognitive and/or behavioural disorders.
Thanks to your team spirit, you work interprofessionally to unite all partners around a common vision to develop care projects aimed at optimal care for patients and their relatives.
Proficiency with IT tools is necessary to successfully carry out this mission, as well as a very good knowledge of the French language.
